A person crouches on top of a rock that says "courage"
Hello!

My name is Eva. I'm a librarian by day and an alleged painter and printmaker--well, also by day, but different days than my day job, usually. I dabbled in a graphic design minor in undergrad, but my formal education is primarily in art history. My love for medieval art and its deep weirdness has followed me ever since I first peeped an illuminated manuscript.

Canonized Critters started as a gift idea for a friend with a great love of swords and possums and became Possum & Crow, Knights Errant, Esq., Ltd., Etc. That turned into brainstorming around the table about what other animals I could turn into holy figures, which turned into St. Gator, which turned into an obsession and a constantly growing note file on my phone. The only rules are it's got to be a critter; what counts as a critter is ultimately in your heart, but the guiding principles are "undignified," "preferably from the Americas," and "would look silly as part of a coat of arms."

In my free time I enjoy writing, hiking, video games, hating on AI, singing, and wishing I was in the mountains somewhere.
